The wholesale coconut shell charcoal price per ton must be quoted for a defined product, quantity, packing and delivery basis. Raw shell charcoal and finished briquettes are different purchase items, so a price from one category cannot be used as a reliable benchmark for the other.
KAOLA confirms pricing through an order-specific quotation. This guide explains what changes the offer, how to compare prices on the same basis and what to send the CharcoalKaola Team for a useful response. It is not a public KAOLA price list or a claim about a universal current market rate.
First define what a ton of coconut charcoal includes
Start with the KAOLA coconut-shell charcoal product overview. Identify whether your enquiry concerns raw carbonized shell pieces, a specified screened material or finished briquettes with a defined formulation and shape.
For briquettes, specify the intended use and dimensions. A shisha briquette and a BBQ briquette should not be assumed to have the same formulation, performance or packing. For industrial enquiries, state the feedstock requirements rather than accepting a finished consumer briquette simply because it is coconut-based. Coconut-shell charcoal is also not automatically finished activated carbon.

What changes the coconut shell charcoal wholesale quote?
| Quote component | Define before comparing | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Product and grade | Raw shell charcoal or finished briquette; intended use and agreed quality criteria. | Different processing and acceptance requirements are not equivalent offers. |
| Size and formulation | Screened size or briquette shape, dimensions, tolerance and declared ingredients. | Changes the work and product being supplied. |
| Order quantity | Net metric tonnes, trial or repeat order, and requested shipment plan. | MOQ, production availability and any quantity-based pricing need confirmation. |
| Packing and branding | Net weight per package, bag/carton format, liner, labels and artwork. | Private-label materials or setup may be separate quote items. |
| Testing and inspection | Required parameters, sampling scope and any independent inspection. | Confirm what is included and what needs an additional arrangement. |
| Delivery basis | Requested trade term, named place or port, destination and booking assumptions. | Prices may include different transport and handling responsibilities. |
| Validity and timing | Quotation date, validity period and proposed production/loading schedule. | A historical offer is not a current commitment. |
Ask each supplier to confirm deviations from your request. If a quote omits a specification, packing item or delivery detail, mark it as unresolved rather than assuming it matches another offer.
Compare price per metric tonne, not an ambiguous “ton”
State the unit as a metric tonne (MT), equal to 1,000 kg, and clarify that the quoted quantity is net product weight. Do not divide by gross weight that includes bags, cartons or pallets when comparing product prices.
Comparable cost per net MT = total cost within the agreed comparison scope ÷ net product quantity in MT.
Define that scope first. For example, a product-and-packing quote and a quote that also includes ocean freight are not comparable without separating the included services. Keep currency and destination assumptions consistent, and identify any conversion rate and date used in your internal comparison.
Do not automatically add freight, handling or inspection twice if an offer already includes it. Equally, do not assume a named delivery term includes every destination charge. Ask the relevant supplier or logistics provider to clarify the cost lines and responsibilities in writing.
Check shipment costs before treating an offer as delivered
Sea freight, carrier acceptance, applicable dangerous-goods charges, packing requirements and destination handling can affect the total offer. Obtain a route-specific freight review rather than estimating one universal surcharge per ton.
Hapag-Lloyd’s charcoal transport notice identifies UN1361, Class 4.2 requirements under IMDG Amendment 42-24. Its Vietnam shipment advisory also illustrates that carrier-specific requirements can go beyond a general summary. Neither notice is a KAOLA freight quotation or proof of acceptance for your booking.
Have the forwarder and intended carrier confirm current requirements for the exact cargo and route. This article is a cost-comparison guide, not a dangerous-goods packing procedure or customs ruling. Destination taxes, duties and import conditions require the importer’s appropriate checks.
Use quality evidence to compare the offered product
Request the evidence relevant to your acceptance criteria. Moisture, ash, fixed carbon and calorific-value figures should identify the product, tested sample, method, units and reporting basis. A number from another charcoal type or a different formulation is not proof of coconut-charcoal performance.
Review KAOLA’s documentation and test scope and ask which records are available for the proposed product. Do not treat ISO, ASTM or TCVN method references as company certifications, or assume every lot already has a separate laboratory report.
For shisha briquettes, use the HMD sample-approval checklist for the application trial. This pricing guide does not set a universal burn time or a fixed carbon/ash range for all coconut products. Product approval and quote comparison are related, but they are not the same task.
Packaging can change the real offer
Specify the net weight, package format, marking and protection you require. Raw material packed for bulk handling and small branded retail cartons are different packing jobs. Confirm artwork, packaging minimum quantities, setup charges and the proposed loading plan instead of assuming private labeling is included in a base product price.
Our export packaging comparison provides related questions to discuss. Any selected package must also suit the cargo and applicable transport requirements; an attractive retail carton alone does not establish shipping compliance.
Send KAOLA a quote-ready request
Copy the following brief into your enquiry. If an item is undecided, say so and ask which options can be reviewed:
- Product: raw shell charcoal or finished briquette; intended use.
- Specification: size/shape, tolerances and required quality criteria.
- Quantity: requested net MT, sample/trial needs and repeat-order expectations.
- Packing: bag or carton, net package weight, liner and private label.
- Destination: country, receiving port/place and requested delivery basis.
- Evidence: requested reports, additional testing, inspection and destination documents.
- Timing: preferred ordering and delivery window for feasibility review.
Ask the response to identify the currency, unit price, net quantity, packing, included costs, exclusions, validity period and outstanding confirmations. Product availability, MOQ, production/loading timing, payment terms and document responsibilities are negotiated for the individual order. Payment terms and the production and shipment schedule are confirmed in the applicable quotation, pro forma invoice or sales contract.
Use the KAOLA wholesale enquiry page for the broader order discussion. The documented capacity of KAOLA’s white-charcoal facility is not a coconut-shell production or stock commitment.
Frequently asked questions
What is KAOLA’s wholesale coconut shell charcoal price per ton?
Request a dated quotation for your product, net quantity, packing and destination. No verified public KAOLA price per MT is stated here, and a third-party price should not be presented as KAOLA’s offer.
Is raw coconut-shell charcoal cheaper than finished briquettes?
They are different products, so obtain quotes for the actual specification rather than assuming a fixed price relationship. A low raw-material price does not describe the cost of a finished branded briquette order.
Does a wholesale price include freight and private-label packing?
Only if the offer explicitly includes them. Confirm the named delivery basis, package specification and separate charges before comparing totals.
Can I get a sample before a bulk order?
Enquire about a representative sample. Availability, sample quantity, packing and shipping cost are confirmed case by case; a request is not an automatic free-sample commitment.
